LWVLC Introduces ONE TIME TASKS

Most of us joined the League of Women Voters because we wanted to “do something” to contribute to our community and make a difference. It can be overwhelming to follow everything that is going on, and know where to start.
One Time Tasks (OTT's) are activities that members can agree to try once, when asked. There are many tasks which are part of the functioning of the League of Women Voters of Leelanau County. Below are some examples of OTT's.

Poster Distribution: Members can be on a substitute list, or share/rotate with another member.
Hospitality: Members can assist with:
Set up/clean up for Public Forums, Annual meeting, and other events
Greet members and guests at Public Forums, monitor sign-up sheet and offer name tags
Bake cookies for December 5th Public Forum to thank County employees
Call New members: Welcome new members to the League or meet members for coffee or lunch to get to know them
Call current members: Check in with them and encourage them to participate. Meet members for coffee or lunch to get to know them
Call members who have not renewed their membership: Share updates about the League and ask them if they want to renew their membership
Attend a government meeting as a silent observer in our Observer Corps (with a seasoned Observer): (County, Township, Village, Library and School Board meetings
Share/rotate with another member to cover monthly meetings
Action Alerts: Respond to alerts that are posted on our website, in the Voter or in eblasts, including issues that come from the LWVUS, LWVMI or the Advocacy Committee
Write Letters to the Editor: In your own name, not from the LWVLC
Write Thank you notes, Get well or Sympathy cards to members
Order LWV Name Badges and arrange delivery
Add your name to the list of willing OTT volunteers
