About the Event
Per Glen Arbor Sun: Join the Glen Arbor Sun, Interlochen Public Radio, and the Leelanau Enterprise on Monday, Oct. 5, at 7 pm at the Glen Arbor Town Hall for the 2026 Cherry Pie Debates — with the national midterm elections looming on Nov. 3.
Every two years, this local event puts candidates front-and-center with those they’re hoping to represent.
This year, we’ll hear from 103rd House District incumbent Rep. Betsy Coffia (D-Traverse City) and her challenger, Edwin Dean (R-Northport). They’ll be joined by state Sen. John Damoose (R-Harbor Springs) and his 37th District challenger Kate Gallup (D-Cedar).
Moderators for the event are Brian Freiberger, editor of the Enterprise; Ed Ronco, news director at Interlochen Public Radio; and Jacob Wheeler, editor and publisher of the Sun.
And yes, there will be cherry pie and ice cream! Admission is free, as is the dessert.
